Shifting from Software Products to Online Services:
After vainly searching for analytical papers on Web 2.0, I started a literature study to answer the following questions:
- Is there indeed a change in the IT industry, shifting software products to software services?
- How does this change relate to Web2.0, Software-as-a-Service and Service Oriented (Business) Architectures?
- What consequences does this change have to the Software Development process, methods and techniques?
This study, that started in April, produced an article this week entitled Shifting from Software Products to Online Services: changes in the Software Development Process.
